Coronavirus (COVID-19) update 15.03.2020

Protecting our Patients and Staff

The health and welfare of our patients and staff at Swansea Physiotherapy LTD is of paramount importance. As a result, our admin and physiotherapy teams have been applying strict infection control measures to reduce the risk of any cross-infection. Since the outbreak, we have been, and are continuing to adhere to the most up to date W.H.O advice and the protocols advised by Public Health Wales.

The following measures are in place at all our clinics:

  • Couch covers, and face cushions will not be used at any of our clinics
  • Couches, chairs, door handles and physiotherapy equipment will all be cleaned with sanitising wipes and spray by your Physiotherapist prior to your appointment
  • Your Physiotherapist will thoroughly wash their hands prior to your appointment and regularly use sanitiser gel
  • Disposable paper towels will be used to cover the cleaned couch
  • Pillows will not be used for head comfort but may be used for lower limb support
  • Patients may bring their own towels to use as a head support.

All of our clinicians and staff members are completely up to date on the current requirements and are undertaking extreme levels of health and safety precautions and implementing proactive procedures to ensure that the highest possible hygiene and infection control standards are maintained at all of our clinics.

Any member of staff who may have been exposed to risk, have automatically been required to self-isolate for at least 7 days.

What to do if you have symptoms of Coronavirus?

Please do not attend your appointment and inform us at the clinic.

You should stay at home for 7 days if you have either:

  • a high temperature
  • a new continuous cough

If you have need to stay at home follow the Public Health Wales self-isolation advice.

Most people can continue to go to work, school and other public places.

To protect yourself and other people:

  • wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds
  • always wash your hands when you get home or into work
  • use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available
  • cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
  • put used tissues in the bin straight away and wash your hands afterwards
  • try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell
  • do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean

It's always good to receive your feeback...

Just a quick line Chris to say that I’ve just got back from the second lot of skiing this year and that the knees have held up well thanks to your expert advice and the exercise regime you gave me. I wouldn’t have thought it possible to keep on with the skiing – and it probably wouldn’t have been without your intervention.

Mr N Parkes

I was very pleased with the treatment that my daughter received at Swansea Physiotherapy. I have used Chris & Co several times over the past five years and would definitely recommend.
