Astrid’s work is inspired by the unique history each person brings to the mat, and the transformative power of the ancient science of yoga.
She has been teaching in England and Wales since 1996, both in classes, with individuals on a 1-2-1 basis, and in clinical and corporate settings.
Her teaching aims to empower each client to find the right tools to bring about recovery, wellbeing and healing. Posture and breath work, meditation, visualisation, mindfulness and mudras are facets bringing light to each individual journey.
Astrid has studied and worked with Iyengar teachers which informs her therapeutic approach. Reg Scott from the Bihar School of Yoga trained her in Yoga Nidra, a deep form of relaxation. She was taught meditation and mindfulness through the Himalayan Institute, under the guidance of John Howell. Her own journey has been inspired by Kaur Kalsa. In 2007 she attained the Teaching Diploma with the British Wheel of Yoga, the governing body for yoga in the UK.
Mental health and wellbeing and stress management have informed Astrid’s life and work. Compassionate living and communication (guided and developed by Marshall Rosenberg) creates the base for every professional encounter.
